Jessie is a model, an IFBB figure professional, sponsored athlete for TEAM Bodybuilding.com and NLA for Her, STRONGCAMP director, creator of the Jessie's Girls Training Programs, and published fitness and health writer. She has been featured in several magazines—Muscle & Fitness Hers, STRONG, FitnessRx for Her, Oxygen, FLEX, and IronMan—and writes regularly for FitnessRx for Her and STRONG.
Jessie and her husband, Alex, live in sunny Arizona and are living the fit lifestyle as they start their family. Jessie has been involved in fitness and sports since she was very young; she holds a black belt in TaeKwonDo and is a certified yoga instructor. "If you watch me do any back workout, you'll probably notice that I'm wearing lifting straps with hooks attached. I get asked about them all the time. In my opinion, they are better than traditional lifting straps: you don't have to fuss with anything and try to wrap and lock yourself in. They are padded around the wrist, and the industrial-strength hooks just hook onto your barbell, pull-up bar, or dumbbells so you can lift heavy without losing your grip. My back is strong, but I find that I have to stop short because my grip is giving up or my forearms are burning. Using these hooks takes all of that out of the equation and allows you to isolate the back muscles you're working. The hooks tuck away so you don't have to take them off in between sets or when you're not using them!"
